FAQs

What does counseling typically look like?

At Integrity Counseling Collective, each provider brings a unique counseling style to tailor sessions to meet the individual needs of clients. While there is no fixed script for how counseling unfolds, there is a general structure commonly followed by our providers.

In your initial session, you will meet your provider, who will discuss the limits of confidentiality, explain the treatment process, and address any immediate questions you may have. During this time, your provider will gather information about your history and symptoms, as well as explore your goals for counseling.

Subsequent sessions offer the opportunity for you and your provider to develop a therapeutic relationship. Together, you will continue to refine your treatment objectives, create a treatment plan, and embark on the treatment process.

The duration of counseling can vary, ranging from short-term interventions lasting a few weeks to long-term therapy spanning several years. This timeline is influenced by your treatment goals, therapeutic requirements, and personal preferences. Additionally, the counseling approach may pivot between more structured, skill-based sessions and more flexible, exploratory discussions based on a multitude of factors.

Feel free to openly communicate your preferences and concerns with your therapist to ensure the counseling experience aligns with your expectations and therapeutic needs.

Will my information be shared with anyone?

At Integrity Counseling Collective, we hold your privacy in the highest regard. Your information is safeguarded and will never be disclosed to any party without your explicit consent. Only with your authorization through a Release of Information Authorization Form will any details of your mental health be shared with others.

However, there are exceptions to this protocol. As mandated reporters, we are obligated to report instances of abuse and neglect. Ensuring your safety and that of those around you is paramount, and in such situations, confidentiality may be breached to prevent harm.

Should you have any queries regarding these procedures or seek further clarification on matters concerning your privacy, do not hesitate to seek guidance from your designated provider.

What is PSYPACT?

PSYPACT is an interstate agreement that allows qualified licensed psychologists to practice across state lines more easily. It streamlines the process for providing telepsychology services in participating states.

  • Only psychologists licensed in PSYPACT states can participate.

  • To offer telepsychology services in PSYPACT states, psychologists must apply for an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) through the PSYPACT Commission.

  • The PSYPACT Commission oversees the compact and includes representatives from each member state.
